Hezbollah protests for new Lebanese Gov't [02 Dec 2006|03:48pm]
Hundreds of thousands of protesters organized by the militant group Hezbollah and its allies rallied outside the downtown Beirut office of Lebanon's prime minister on Friday, calling for his resignation in what's being called "the great showdown."

"Saniora out! We want a free government!" protesters chanted through loudspeakers.

Wow...Israel missed a golden opportunity. And somehow "free government" and "Hezbollah" don't go together well in a sentence.

2006 Democratic Revolution? [08 Nov 2006|08:50am]
Yes it is indeed a dark day for America. But at least there is one satisfaction for all Republicans: The Democrats will be held under serious scrutiny by the American people. If they do not deliver in their "promises", the American populace will make the 1994 Republican Revolution look like a bloody cockfight compared to what will happen to the Dems in '08. No longer will the Dems be able to blame the country's problems on the GOP, for they are the majority now.

North Korea may have The Bomb? [14 Oct 2006|09:26pm]
Prelim tests show a big possibility. Meanwhile, the UN approves watered-down sanctions:

The vote was 15-0. The US-drafted resolution allows nations to stop cargo going to and from North Korea to check for weapons of mass destruction or related supplies.

But the measure specifically excludes military force. It requires all countries to prevent the sale or transfer of materials related to Pyongyang's unconventional weapons programs.

And the resolution demands nations freezes funds overseas of people or businesses connected with North Korea''s nuclear and ballistic missile programs.

North Korea nuke test? [10 Oct 2006|12:32am]
I don't think so. I won't believe it unless someone says they have detected significant radiation in the area. I doubt a nuke, even a small one, can produce only a 4-point seismic reading.

If anything, it got the news networks to talk about something different for a change.

Oh...and here's why i think it WASN'T a nuke test:

On Nov. 6, researchers for the Atomic Energy Commission detonated a warhead of the Spartan antiballistic missile system underground, about one mile beneath Amchitka. In reaction to the blast, the ground surface rose and fell 20 feet. The shock registered 7.0 on the Richter scale, the seismic unit of the time. Within two days after the explosion, a crater more than one mile wide and 40 feet deep formed.

Chavez calls Bush "The Devil" [20 Sep 2006|03:05pm]
Venezuela's leader Hugo Chavez has called US President George W Bush as "the devil" in a speech at the United Nations General Assembly.

Article

I'm surprised he didn't take off his shoe, pound on the podium and scream "We will bury you!" after he started talking about his little "Axis of World Nutjobs" club.

I agreed with only one thing this moron said and it was on the relocation of the UN. I'm sure the American people wouldn't mind Congress shelling out a few million dollars to make it happen. I just hope the diplomats don't forget to pay their parking tickets.

Bounty Hunter "Dog" Chapman arrested [15 Sep 2006|11:08am]
(CNN)- Duane "Dog" Chapman, the self-proclaimed world's most-famous bounty hunter who achieved notoriety nabbing thousands of bail jumpers was arrested Thursday for allegedly jumping bail in Mexico.

Chapman was wanted in connection with his highly publicized 2003 capture of Max Factor cosmetics heir Andrew Luster, who fled to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, after skipping out on a $1 million bail. (Watch how the bounty hunter landed in the doghouse -- 2:05)

Luster was later convicted in-absentia on 86 charges involving drugging three women with the date-rape drug, GHB, and raping them. Luster is serving a 124-year sentence. (Full story)

Chapman's son, Leland, also was arrested Thursday, as was colleague Tim Chapman, who is unrelated but considered a "blood brother" by Dog, according to the reality show's Web site.

So now the US Marshalls are being ordered around by the Mexican government? First it was the Border Patrol, then the Justice Department (over 2 border patrolmen wounding a drug smuggler from Mexico) and now the US Marshalls. So much for the sovereignty of the United States.

Chavez snuggles with Mayor of London, gives away more oil for PR [13 Sep 2006|03:14pm]
The point at which President Hugo Chávez decided that London should serve as a model for services and governance in Caracas was not immediately apparent. He came in May, visited City Hall amid much controversy and fanfare, and was soon gone.

But the result of his visit is likely to be an extraordinary deal struck with London's mayor, Ken Livingstone, that would see Caracas benefit from the capital's expertise in policing, tourism, transport, housing and waste disposal.

London, meanwhile, would gain the most obvious asset the Venezuelans have to give: cheap oil. Possibly more than a million barrels of the stuff.

South American diesel would be supplied by Venezuela - the world's fifth-largest oil exporter - as fuel for some of the capital's 8,000 buses, particularly those services most utilised by the poor.

The exchange arises from the high-profile offer President Chávez made to London during his visit to City Hall in May. Since then officials have been meeting in London and Caracas to bring the barter deal about.

Article

I wonder what the people of Venezuala have to say about their Dictator-wannabe giving away their oil and selling it cheap. I bet Chavez would squash those who oppose his little cheap oil giveaway sweepstakes and call them "American spies intent on overthrowing me"

Despite Cease-fire, Iran continues to arm Hezbollah [18 Aug 2006|02:21pm]
WASHINGTON — Iran has been attempting to rearm the Lebanon-based terror network Hezbollah since the U.N.-backed cease-fire between Hezbollah and Israel took hold earlier this week, two U.S. officials told FOX News on Thursday.

A U.S. arms control official said it appears that Iran is using Syrian channels in its effort to give Hezbollah weapons it has used in the past, including Chinese-built C-802 radar-guided anti-ship missiles.
